Description: 


Interactive robots are apparatuses that are programmed to fluently dialogue with humans, as well as to navigate, aim, learn, and live in human-like surroundings. In order to achieve this goal, we are designing the GAT BT system to be aware of their mental state, and their familiarity with the surrounding environment, it must be sufficiently shared with the info they receive through their awareness system.  Our systems are suitable for operating in human surroundings, carrying out socially-oriented tasks which allow them to become tour robots (ex: in museums), entertaining systems (in holiday parks), or companion systems (at homes). Several prototypes of interactive GAT BT have already been planned, yet they do not yet use reasoning structures. 


This project is the continuation of the research developed in previous projects, in which a GAT BT tour-guide system for conferences was developed, but with an inflexible behavior defined by means of static rules. Our goal for the next 2 years is to add interactive social behaviors that are needed to sufficiently interact with persons in the development of its assigned tasks.
